Trip Price and Kitty Price Explained

The cost of each trip is split into two parts – the Trip Price and the Kitty. Discounts apply if booking multiple trips – contact us for details.

To secure a place on one of our trip/s, we ask that you pay a deposit of 10% or £200 Pounds, whichever is the greater.

The Trip Price minus the deposit is payable to us in full no less than 12 weeks before departure. We will notify you when payment is due. This allows us to arrange all the required permits and make the necessary logistical arrangements for the trip. This cut-off is also essential due to the fact that certain visas will need to be obtained by you in advance and this process takes time.

The Trip Price covers all land transport and fees relating to the truck, services of the crew, use of the truck equipment, backup, and logistical support from our UK office.

The Kitty is paid into a central fund on the first day of the trip in cash. For all of our trips, the kitty must be paid in cash. We ask that at least 50% of the kitty is paid in Euros, and we can accept the remaining 50% in American Dollars. We can not accept any other forms of payment.

The kitty covers accommodation, meals whilst camping, local guides and selected activities that the group take part in as a whole, such as entry to National Parks, Museums etc. It is a group fund managed by the crew – but open to inspection by any passenger at any time. By doing this we have a flexible system, which can be monitored as we go and adjusted accordingly. It is completely transparent so everyone can see exactly what is being paid for. If any money is left at the end of the trip it will be refunded to the group.

The Kitty amounts for each trip have been calculated as accurately as possible. But please bear in mind that parts of our trips are exploratory and will therefore be our first run through some of the areas – so we may have to adjust the final figure by a small amount if necessary.
