2026-27 Trip Dates Available – Bookings Open!
Over the past few weeks, we’ve been working hard to finalise our 2026–27 departure dates. We’re confident these trips are better than ever, while continuing to deliver the high-quality, thoughtfully guided experience that OWA has become known for.
For the 2026–27 season, we’ve introduced a few practical updates to our itineraries.
We are now operating a southbound journey from Marrakech to Dakar, a streamlined three-week trip that allows for more time in Western Sahara and Mauritania. If you’ve already explored Morocco and are keen to venture further afield, this route focuses on the quieter, less-visited stretches of the Sahara and offers a fresh perspective on the region. Our northbound trip follows the same itinerary in reverse.
We’ve also scheduled our Accra to Accra departure to coincide with the annual Vodun Festival in Ouidah, held from 8–10 January.
About the Vodun Festival
The festival is a major cultural celebration of the Vodun (Voodoo) religion, officially recognised in Benin. It brings together priests, devotees, musicians and local communities for ceremonies, traditional music and dance, colourful processions, and rituals along the historic coastline of Ouidah. It offers a rare opportunity to witness living spiritual traditions and gain deeper insight into one of West Africa’s most influential cultural and religious heritages.
Across all routes, we’ve refined our itineraries to take advantage of improved road conditions and to allow more time in the destinations we believe truly stand out. The result is a smoother journey, with longer stays where it matters most.
