Trip Price and Kitty Price Explained
The cost of each trip is split into two parts – the Trip Price and the Kitty – and we do offer discounts if you book multiple trips
To secure a place on one of our trip/s, we ask that you pay a deposit of 12.5% or £325 Pounds, whichever is the greater amount.
The Trip Price minus the deposit is payable to us in full no less than 90 days before departure. This allows us to arrange all the required permits and make the necessary logistical arrangements for the trip. This cut-off is also essential due to the fact that certain visas will need to be obtained by you in advance and this process does take some time.
The Trip Price covers all land transport and fees relating to the truck, services of the crew, use of the truck equipment, backup and logistical support from the UK.
The Kitty is a payment which you put into a central fund on the first day of the trip. For all of our trips the kitty must be paid in cash. We ask that at least 50% of the kitty is paid in Euros, and we can accept the remaining 50% in American Dollars. We can not accept any other forms of payment.
The kitty covers accommodation (ie camping fees and hotels/hostels), nearly all meals whilst camping, local guides (where necessary) and selected activities that the group take part in as a whole, such as entry fees to National Parks etc. It is a group fund managed by the crew – but open to inspection by any passenger at any time. By doing this we have a flexible system which can be monitored as we go along and adjusted accordingly. It is completely transparent so everybody can see exactly what is being paid for. If there is any money left over at the end of the trip it will be refunded to the group.
The Kitty amounts for each trip have been calculated as accurately as possible. But please bear in mind that prices do change with little or no notice – so we may have to adjust the final figure by a small amount if necessary.
